SPEAK: INSIDE OUT BOY

Very eccentric rapper Speak, released a very extrodinary piece of work Titled Inside Out Boy. With intricate production an witty lyricism, Speak grabs your attention an never lets go. He begins the tape with the first track “Brain Food (whats for dinner)” with a almost poetic, spoken word flow. First speaking about a girl then shortly after refferencing to himself as a meth addict in his garage with scabs on his face, watching porn alone an a video of a girl fucking a horse, human traficking with a mexican family in his trunk, the world ending while he’s looking for some head an letting all his ex girlfriends know that he’s glad they didn’t have his kid otherwise he’s have to end his life. Yes, you read that right. He only continues to gain momentum throughout the rest of the tape with such topics of bazarre obscurities. If this first track doesnt intrigue you to prusue the rest you probally aren’t quite used to such complex hiphop, not to insult anyone reading this, but you get my point. On a latter track “The Rose Parade” he talks about how he Wakes up next to a girl with smeared masscara, brags about his talents, ego an luxurious life, an questions why would he want to have a star in the Hollywood walk of fame over a spacy, futuristic beat. You only get lost in the production an confidence he emmits through his lyrics. Eventually you reach a track titled “Framboise Menage a Trois” which closely translates to a domestic arrangement in which three people having sexual relations occupy the same household – the phrase literally translates as “household of three” in French. Interesting it is which only makes you wonder what he could possibly rap about. He begins to explain to a girl why she would want to have sexual relations with him. He then starts to go on about how he’s on DMT an that he needs more drugs. All this brews with yet another futuristic beat an it does justice. Features consist of Cashius Green, Def Sound an Vince Staples. Speaking of Vince Stapels, the track titled “Whatever” which he’s featured on, he an Speak go on a back an forth argument on whether or not Speak will even be succesful over the hook. Speak begins his verse talking about himself as a “hipster faggot” who keeps a house full of bitches an lets them over dose on heroin like the Olsen twins. He of couse found a way to ryhme Bob Saget’s name in there. That alone is worth a listen. After highlighting only a few songs I hope you take some intrest an give it a listen for yourself.

PERFECT STORM - SAM-SIN FT. TREBLE
click photo for song

A local artist coming out of Modesto California, Sam-Sin is a very underrated emcee. With a smooth voice full of rythim that fits perfect over almost any beat an a flow that’s always on point it’s hard not to like this guy. Usual topics he covers are his struggles an aspirations he goes through daily. Another song worth noting is one he did about the Lacey Perterson murder, a great song which explains perfectly on what happened down below.

ROLLING THROUGH THRU THE HOOD - GUERILLA BLACK

First thing that caught my attention was the erri similarity of his voice in contrast to the late an great Notorius B.I.G. Strange, yes. Also he pretty much speaks about the same topics but for a gansta rapper he’s definatly worth your attention. Able to bring you back to the ninties in great fashion with a newer sound. Hardly does he ever disapoint with production an delivery, he is truely a lyrical emcee for this genre. He’s able to rap over such common subjects yet bring a different twist with lines that strike your attention with such as “Never seen a pimp with more rings than Phil Jackson” an “Somebody done shot him, he ain gonna rebound so don’t call him Dennis Rodman”. I’ve been sleeping on him an I suggest you wake up also.

If you want to add this an the rest of his mixtape to your music collection..

UNEMPLOYMENT - ARON COHEN FT. ABGOHARD AN SPACEMAN (OFFICIAL VIDEO) PROD. NDLDRP
click photo for video

Here is some refreshing music coming from the New York underground hiphop scene. Aron Cohen is gritty, somewhat hard to look at an most importantly a great artsit. With more of a slower, steady flow Aron Cohen certainly knows how to get staright to the point with interesting punchlines an concepts he protrays throughout his music along with catchy hooks. His mixtape Murk can surely keep your attention with samples of various comedians doing stand up on the topic of death, such as Jerry Seinfeld, which ease into each track very smoothly. He isn’t always rough around the edges with his lyrics such as his track Religion, but still a very touchy subject in a way. For his track Unemployment he features Abgohard an Spaceman from his group I.C.K. (Inner City Kids) to show you what they can do an it’s interesting to think what else they can create in the near future.

GONZO - SPACEMAN (OFFICIAL VIDEO) PROD. SPACEMAN

Here is a fairly unkown an underrated artist Spaceman from the group I.C.K. (Inner City Kids). He comes off as a weird rapper just having fun but that’s exactlly why he’s worth listening to. More of an unorthadox emcee with self production that really stands out on its own, Spaceman speaks on various topics such as psychedelics, the universe an anyother topic not really “typical hiphop” related. Gonzo, his first single from his coming up mixtape Over It, may take a few listens but in the end it quickly grows on you as a listen due to his great lyrics. Stay on the look out for Over It on his..

STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM - DRAKE PROD. MR. ZOMBIE
click photo for video

An Drake continues to stay relevant in hiphop. He has recently released a track which sounds like alot of his earlier songs lyrically but the production was a key part in this track seperating from that. What is somewhat interesting is the producer he choose for this, who is pretty much unknown, in Mr. Zombie. None the less you should definatly give this a listen

WORK (LIL B DISS) - MACON HAMILTON
click photo for video

Here is a young artist, from the ATL, who in many peoples opinion is the “next Kendrick Lamar”. Those are huge shoes for any artist to even imagine to wear. On another note his voice sounds very similar to another artist.. Joey Badass, but his flow is far different in comparrison. He can spit like no ther artist in the game with a flow that’ll leave you having to replay the song just to catch what he’s saying. Known for being lyrical, he jumps from subject to subject very quickly. Now let me talk about this diss he has released. Shorlty after Lil B dissed Joey Badass an vice versa, Macon Hamilton decided to jump on the hype an do what Joey couldn’t over a Big Puns Beware. Not saying Joey Badass can’t rap but his song Don’t Quite Your Day Job wasn’t all that great for a diss track. Work is quick an straight to the point, which is why It’s alot better of a diss due to Joey going on for to long. I highly doubt Lil B will even respond to this but you never know.

ILLEST - DAVON KING PROD. FREDDIE JOACHIM
click photo for the soundcloud

Here is Davon King, a new artist from the New York underground scene. He comes in smooth over every track he spits on an has a good ear for production. He recently dropped his sophomore mixtape T.O.A.T. (Toughts Of an Angelic Thinker) an it’s well worth your attention. Davon is most known for speaking on topics such as poverty, the struggle of a young man in a cold world an past relationships. It seems as if he knows exactly when to end a song cause you never sit there wondering when the next track will play. You get left wanting more, which is perfect when it comes to listening to hiphop.

This is a late post on the official video for the rapper Nell, who is from the group Raider Klan but most recently they changed their name to Black Money. Nell is probally one of the most talented if not the most talented emcee out of this group. His flow comes in hot an it’s hard to believe when he freestyles it’s actually coming off top, none the less if you enjoy that old ninties Three 6 Mafia sound you should most definatly give him a listen.
